Wishlist

Recently we replaced our computer lab's old CRT displays with used, energy-efficient LCD displays from TecsChange. These proved valuable, not only for their miserly energy usage, but also from an ergonomic point of view. We still need to replace close to 15 monitors throughout e5's offices. The prices of these LCDs have fallen a great deal and one can now buy relatively high quality monitors for little over $100.

Most events at e5 these days use the video projector for presentations and/or screening documentaries. For this reason, we'd like to set up the projector in a fixed place to minimize the set up time and minimize the potential for damage to the projector that comes with many different people having to handle the projector. The ceiling mount will allow us to do so. It costs about $70 and is available online.

Across several events, performances, and panel discussions, we've have to improvise in the absence of a small stage. It needs to provide modest elevation allowing the speakers to project their voices to everyone while ensuring that everyone can see them. We found a convenient system that folds and rolls away (allowing us to use it at other locations). It costs around $1,500 and can be ordered online by clicking on the photo. We're hoping to get the 8" height version.

Too many great events and discussions have taken place at e5 only to remain memories. We need to document things to share with others and build a dialog beyond e5's walls.
