On Saturday, January 27th from 12pm- 4pm at Encuentro 5, Boston Strategic

Resistance, an ad hoc organizing committee of anarchists and

anti-authoritarians, will host a participatory workshop and strategy

session on relations between Boston area anarchists, anti-authoritarians,

those with similar ideals and the larger communities around us.  We feel

that anarchists and other anti-au! thoritar ians haven't always done a good

job of relating our ideals and politics to the real struggles that we're

involved with and that are taking place around us.  In order to be more

effective and relevant, we must get better at participating in and

supporting struggles in a meaningful way.  The goal of this event will be

to examine the issues that have come up in the past and to find positive

ways for anti-authoritarians to work with others in the struggle for real

change.

This participatory workshop will attempt to create a constructive dialogue

amongst anti-authoritarians here in Boston, to help ourselves think

through issues that we have all faced in our work.  We'd like to get past

this fear of disagree ment and of conversations about strategy, so that we

can move ourselves forward. We would like to learn from each others

experiences, discuss strategies and tactics, and know exactly why we are

taking the approach we are.  The purpose of these conversations is to make

us all more effective as organizers and activists, both in our own

communities, and in solidarity with others.  We would like to recognize

that w e all have something to learn from each other.

This event provide a forum to discuss real stories of anarchist and

anti-authoritarian participation in campaigns, actions, and organizations

from the near and not-so-near history of Boston.  It is intended as a

session of internal reflection and is open to anarchists,

anti-authoritarians and others who have similar ideals who have

constructive criticism to contribute.  This event is only for those who

are willing to examine their own actions openly and critically.  It is not

open to those who are dogmatic, unwilling to be self-critical, or simply

looking for a fight about political theory.
